Sounds Like: Cuban

Kiki Valera & Cubaché will be sharing the stage this evening with a special guest musician from Holguín, Cuba, José Joaquín Alayo, on bass. This will be the first time Kiki & Alayo have played together in over 20 years and it should be a dynamite show. The rest of the all star lineup includes Latin Grammy nominees Joshuah de Jesus on vocals/congas (Buena Vibra Sextet) & Steve Guasch on bongos/vocals (Orquesta Nueva Era), Alfredo Polier on vocals & Javier Marú on guitar/vocals (both of Trio Cubay), & Tor Dietrichson on percussion/vocals.

The oldest son of the famous La Familia Valera Miranda septeto, Kiki Valera is considered by many to be Cuba's greatest living cuatro player. He is also a multi-instrumentalist (tres, guitar, bass, keyboards & percussion), composer, arranger, sound engineer & producer. After 25 years of directing La Familia Valera Miranda in Santiago de Cuba, this amazing international recording artist has moved to Seattle, WA where he is currently working with a new lineup of talented musicians to present authentic, traditional Cuban music. 7pm, $10
